I came across a quote the other day that I have always liked.
When God closes a door, he opens a window. Someone added to that quote which made it become even more clear…
“When God closes a door, he opens a window, but it’s up to you to find it.”
Jeannette Walls
There is truth in that quote. Yes, if a door does close, I believe God provides us with options. I, as Jeanette Walls, would say, but that option does not just magically appear; we have to find it. I don’t think God intentionally hides our options, but I think we need to be motivated to seek them out.
For example,
- In divorce, the alimony does not just appear; you have to hire an attorney to make it happen.
- If you need a job, you have to get out there and work to find one.
- If you want to take a nice vacation, it does not just happen; you have to develop a plan.
- If you want to make new friends, you must get out there with others to make those friends.
Here are a few photos and quotes…
“If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.”
Milton Berle
“When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.“
Alexander Graham Bell
“You have to think there’s a reason for everything.
When a door closes another door opens.”
Chris Daughtry
“When God closes one door He always opens another or at least a window.”
Woodrow Kroll
If doors in your life have closed, begin to look for the open window. If there is something that needs to change in your life, find another door to help you meet your need and go through it. It takes determination and effort, but we can do it.
God Bless You on Your Journey!
