Journal Prompt for February 2023
What type of music do you enjoy listening to and how does it make you feel?
I love music. I find myself singing along to various tunes, and you will often find me singing in harmony. I find joy in many types of music. I grew up on rock music and enjoy it to this day. I like county music and some jazz and classical. The music that I like most is Christian music. I have been a member of Praise and Worship teams in local churches. We would sing praise songs as well as Christian rock, which was my personal favorite.
I guess Christian music is my favorite type of music because it literally saved my life. During the most challenging time in my life, when my husband abruptly left me, I wanted to give up because all of my dreams and goals were destroyed, and I could find no reason to move on. During this time, I would force myself to listen to a Christian Radio Station called K-Love.
Listening to the music, I was able to keep going. In the lyrics, I found hope, joy, and the knowledge that God loves me and that He will never leave me or forsake me. Through the message in the music, I found strength and a reason to move forward.
