Discovering Neo Deco: Creating and Selling My Latest Design

Posted on February 6, 2026

Today is Etsy shop day, and I’m putting the spotlight on my shop, Art In Design. It’s where I create and share a mix of fun digital downloads—some inspired by the latest trends and others showcasing fun prints and some of my photography. It’s always exciting to play with colors, shapes, and themes to bring style and personality into printable art that anyone can use to freshen up their space.

I’ve been hearing a lot about Neo Deco lately—this intriguing design trend that’s making waves on Pinterest and beyond. Curious to understand what it really means and how it sets itself apart from traditional Art Deco, I did a little digging. Starting with a quick Google search to get the official scoop, the definition painted a picture of a style that blends the glamorous energy of the 1920s with today’s love for clean, comfortable, and modern living spaces.

Next, I jumped into Canva and explored hundreds of Art Deco and Neo Deco designs, soaking in the rich geometric shapes, velvet hues, and brass accents that define the trend. I dived into the design elements associated with Neo Deco—bold lines, chevrons, arches, and a color palette full of deep jewel tones like emerald and burgundy. After some experimenting and playing around with these elements, I began to see how Neo Deco isn’t just a revival; it’s a fresh, softer take on classic glamour, making it accessible and livable for modern spaces.

My first try at the design was just that—an attempt. I pulled together shapes and colors I’d read about, mixing gold, blue, and teal into several images. But honestly, none of them quite hit the mark or felt right to me, so I chose not to move forward with those. Instead, I decided to start fresh and dive back in for another round of creative exploration.

After diving deeper into Neo Deco, I decided to align my design with the colors that many embrace in this trend: rich golds and deep blues. To bring it all together, I explored geometric design options on Canva, looking for the perfect shapes and patterns that capture Neo Deco’s bold yet refined vibe.

As I worked with the new color palette and design elements, I quickly realized I liked this version far better than my first attempt. After experimenting with different geometric shapes and layouts, I finally created a design that felt just right—and I’m excited to share it for sale in my Etsy shop.

The last design in the row above was the one I felt truly captured the look and feel I wanted, so that’s the one I decided to sell in my shop. Here are a couple of images I put on my shop including mockups.

I had so much fun creating this design, and I can’t wait to dive into the next one! Please take a moment to visit my shop—I’m gradually building it up and would love to share my work with you.

Enjoy The Journey!
