I was looking forward to our upcoming sunset cruise with Captain Ron and his first mate Kathy aboard the Wanderer. This two-hour tour along Beaufort’s stunning Crystal Coast promises the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. I’m planning to bring a few snacks, water, and some wine to enjoy while watching wild horses roam and hopefully we will see dolphins swim alongside the boat. I’m also excited to see the birds native to the area and, of course, to experience a breathtaking sunset that will make this trip truly unforgettable. It sounds like the perfect way to soak in the magic of the Southern Outer Banks!
We were warmly welcomed by Kathy, our friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, along with Captain Ron, the ship’s captain. After meeting our fellow passengers, we settled into our seats on the boat. The vessel offers seating on the main deck, plus an upper deck that provides an excellent vantage point to take in the sights and enjoy the breeze. Rocky and I started our journey on the lower deck but quickly made our way up to the upper deck to soak in the views.
With my camera ready to capture photos, our boat glided along the stunning Beaufort waterfront. From the upper deck, we watched as boats navigated the winding path of Taylor Creek, their wake gently rippling the water. Along the shore, charming homes and inviting restaurants created a picturesque backdrop, making the whole experience peaceful and scenic.
On one side of the boat, we took in the picturesque Beaufort waterfront, with its charming homes and lively restaurants. On the other side, we spotted wild horses grazing peacefully on a small island by the water, with beautiful birds nearby adding to the serene scene.
As the evening went on, we made our way to a spot to watch the sunset. Though the sky was cloudy, we still caught a beautiful sunset over the water—it was a truly lovely sight.
Discovering Beaufort through the tours offered by this company was an incredible experience. Their expert guides provided fascinating insights into the area’s rich history, vibrant culture, and abundant wildlife. Whether you’re interested in a shorter outing like the 2-hour wild horse and dolphin tour, a longer 4-hour trip to Sand Dollar Island, or a peaceful 2-hour sunset cruise, they have options to fit different interests and schedules. These tours are a wonderful way for travelers to experience Beaufort like a local and create unforgettable memories.
Happy Travels Everyone!
