NC Aquarium At Fort Fisher in Kure Beach NC
A few years ago, I had the chance to visit the amazing
North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher
in Kure Beach—a place that truly brings the wonders of the natural world to life. From the smooth glide of stingrays to the playful antics of otters, the Aquarium offers unforgettable experiences for visitors of all ages. Whether you’re spotting sharks, meeting an albino alligator, or marveling at baby sea turtles, it’s easy to see why this site is consistently voted one of the top attractions in the region.
The otter enclosure is wonderful—here’s how the aquarium describes it…
“Meet a fascinating furry family of Asian small-clawed otters at home in a new, expansive habitat in the Aquarium’s conservatory. These curious creatures explore their surroundings, swim in their pools, and delight in discovering new ways to play.
The otters are on habitat daily from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. After that time, they are behind the scenes for dinner”.
