Whenever I drive past the NCMA in Raleigh, I can spot several sculptures from the road. I figured it was about time I explored The Museum Park up close.
Quote from the NCMA website…
“The Ann and Jim Goodnight Museum Park connects art, nature, and people to encourage creative experiences and human interactions. It features temporary and permanent public art installations by international artists, environmentally sustainable landscapes, colorful and contemporary gardens, miles of recreational trails, and a terraced pond.”
According to the park brochure, there are 28 works of art in this park. I viewed 15. I will have to go back and find the sculptures that I missed.
The park is beautiful, featuring walking trails, picnic spots, and plenty of artwork. It made for a lovely stroll on this gorgeous spring day.
I noticed people lounging on benches, a family enjoying a picnic under the shade of a weeping willow, others walking their dogs, and some simply strolling. And then there was me, camera in hand, capturing the scene.
So many amazing works of art.
If you’re up for a hike and enjoy sculptures and art, I highly recommend visiting the Museum Park at the NCMA. Bring some water for your walk, and maybe pack a picnic lunch to make the most of your time there.
Happy Travels and Adventures!
